Rena Striegel

President
Rena Striegel is the President of Transition Point Business Advisors and one of the nation’s leading experts in agricultural succession, strategic planning, and next‑generation leadership development. With more than 20 years of hands‑on experience working with multi‑generational farms, ag leaders, and family‑owned businesses, she is known for helping organizations move from uncertainty to clarity, from stalled plans to confident action.
As President, Rena leads Transition Point’s work in strategic planning, business succession, continuity planning, and leadership development. She is recognized for her ability to translate complex concepts into practical, executable strategies that strengthen communication, improve operational performance, and prepare families for long‑term success. Her direct, honest, and highly relational approach has helped farms and agribusinesses across the U.S. build the systems, skills, and alignment needed to navigate growth and transition with confidence.
Rena is the creator of The DIRTT Project®, a signature framework designed to help families prepare for ownership transition by improving communication, clarifying expectations, and building leadership capacity. She is also a sought‑after keynote speaker known for her practical insights and often humorous take on the realities of leading and working within family enterprises.
Raised on a dairy and hog farm in What Cheer, Iowa, Rena brings lived agricultural experience to every engagement. She is a certified business coach and holds an MBA from the University of Iowa. In addition to her consulting work, she hosts the Ag Inspo podcast and contributes regularly to leading agricultural publications including Top Producer Magazine, Progressive Forage, Farm Journal, and Cattle Business Weekly.
Tom Ambroson
Thomas Ambroson, PMP is the COO/Project Manager for Transition Point Business Advisors and works to not only oversee the operation and marketing efforts of the organization, but also manages the projects associated with succession planning and business continuity processes.
Tom is also a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). For the past 20 years Tom has worked to managed a variety of technology and marketing related projects to ensure they stay on track, while providing critical client relationship support. Tom as a wealth of experience in project management, account management, website administration, marketing, business analysis, and client relationship management.
Prior to entering the project management field, Tom held several management and supervisory positions in the corporate and educational industries related to marketing, promotions, event management, and project management.
Tom is a graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Advertising/Design from the College of Design with an emphasis in Business and Journalism.

Dawn Striegel is the Director of Marketing for Transition Point Business Advisors, where she leads the firm’s brand strategy, visual communications, and digital presence. With deep experience in graphic design, marketing strategy, and integrated communications, she specializes in transforming complex ideas into clear, compelling messages that resonate with agricultural families, business owners, and industry partners.
At Transition Point, Dawn oversees the development of marketing materials, website content, visual assets, and communication frameworks that support the firm’s mission of helping multi‑generational farms navigate leadership, succession, and long‑term business sustainability. Her work ensures that Transition Point’s messaging reflects the clarity, empathy, and practical guidance that define the firm’s approach.
Dawn brings a strong background in visual storytelling and brand development, enabling her to create materials that not only inform but also build trust and connection. She plays a key role in shaping how Transition Point communicates its services, shares client success stories, and elevates awareness around the emotional and operational realities of farm transition.
Her ability to blend strategic communication with thoughtful design strengthens the firm’s outreach, enhances client engagement, and supports Transition Point’s commitment to serving agricultural families with honesty, clarity, and respect.
Wally Thomas
Wally Thomas is the Chief Executive Officer of Morsen Services, bringing 29 years of direct agricultural and commercial lending experience to the clients he serves. With a career rooted in midwestern banking and strengthened by formal training in agriculture and accounting, Wally offers a rare combination of financial expertise, operational insight, and practical understanding of the challenges facing today’s farm and business owners.
Throughout his career, Wally has worked closely with agricultural producers, family businesses, and commercial enterprises to evaluate financial performance, structure credit, and support long‑term business stability. His extensive lending background uniquely positions him to provide additional advisory services, including business analysis, succession planning, financial restructuring, and strategic decision support.
As a recognized expert in FINPACK, Wally helps clients create, maintain, and troubleshoot their financial systems to ensure accurate reporting and informed planning. His hands‑on approach and deep technical knowledge allow clients to gain clarity, strengthen financial management, and make decisions that support both short‑term needs and long‑term goals.
